Went with my buddy Farah Diba, since she said she had never watched cinemas in Malaysia before. I took her to Mid Valley Megamall. Give me an applause because it is my first time going somewhere in KL without a male assistance :)
So, summarizing everything, the movie was following only 60% of the entire novel. There is no Leonardo Vetra, there is no Hassassin, there is no Maximillian Kohler. Initial plot line was also different and you won't get to see that high-tech plane that was mentioned in Dan Brown's original masterpiece. You'll only get a helicopter -_-"
Other than that, everything was according to the book and this time it was well-edited! No silly shit like what happened to poor Da Vinci Code. The only sucky part was that Cardinal Baggia was alive in the movie and got elected as the new Pope when he was supposed to die in the book.
The assassin was CAUCASIAN in the movie, but he was supposed to be some Middle-East dude who has a penchant for voyeurism and sado-masochism, and hires high-class prostitutes to reward himself after each success of carrying out the evil plan. He was supposed to be fearless, but the movie dude was stupid. However, I have to salute Ewan McGregor for his glorious acting as Camerlengo Ventresca. He nailed it, man! I was almost fooled by his character as how I was fooled reading the book!
Anyway, it was good as a movie. If it was to be made exactly like the book, it would have been a flop, I believe.
So movie-goers who want to to know what exactly is going on in the book, go figure! Both version are slightly different but both are good :)
Obi Wan! You RULEZ leh!
